Quality of Life of Children in Children's Home
DOLEŽALOVÁ, Nina
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the quality of life of children in children's homes. The quality of life of children in children's homes is often overlooked, and the focus is mainly on preparing children for leaving children's homes or ensuring their material security, even though the quality of life of children can affect their entire lives. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis captures the issue of institutional care, its history, and current state in the Czech Republic, as well as the issue of the quality of life. The aim of the practical part was to find out the quality of life of children in children's homes in selected regions. The implementation of the research took place in the Pilsen and South Bohemia regions and involved 34 respondents. To fulfill this goal, quantitative research and a query method were chosen, which was implemented using an anonymous standardized questionnaire PedsQL and a questionnaire created specifically for this purpose. The data was evaluated in MS Excel and recorded using descriptive techniques in graphs and tables. A data matrix was created in MS Excel and evaluated using IBM SPSS Statistics version 24. Pearson's correlation was used to test the hypotheses. In the bachelor thesis two hypotheses were set. Hypothesis 1 examined the influence of age on negative emotions of children in children's homes. The results showed that age does indeed influence the emotional evaluation of children, and thus the hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 2 examined the influence of the length of children's stay in children's homes on the quality of life according to PedsQL. According to the results, the hypothesis was not confirmed. The bachelor's thesis can serve as a basis for further research on the quality of life of children in children's homes. Based on the data obtained, the bachelor's thesis can be used as a study material for strategic planning aimed at improving the quality of life for children.
The role of moral responsibility in the educational effect of institutional child welfare
PŘÍHODOVÁ, Denisa
The diploma thesis deals with the role of moral responsibility in the context of institutional care for a child from a disadvantaged background. The work analyzes in detail the possible influence of psychological deprivation and poor socialization of the child on the change in adolescent behavior in the way that requires him to be removed from the family environment. The aim of this thesis is to map the meaning of moral responsibility in child education. This goal includes noting both the importance of a parent's responsibility towards their child and the importance of the child's own responsibility. In the case when the adopted responsibility of the child is not sufficient for ordinary life in society the importance of institutional care is pointed out. A fundamental knowledge emerging from this thesis is the fact that parents' lack of moral responsibility can cause their children to behave inappropriately and is itself transmitted to the next generation, creating a closed circle from which it is very difficult to exit. All discussed findings from theoretical sources were supported by the personal experience of the social worker providing assistance to families from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Application of Supervision in School Facilities for the Performance of Institutional Education or Protective Education and in School Facilities for Preventive Educational Care
HELLEROVÁ, Kristýna
Supervision is considered a standard part of the professional growth of workers in the field of helping professions i.e., those who are in direct contact with people, their problems, and emotions at work. Supervision allows these workers to think about the quality of their work, increase their ability to reflect and self-reflect. The goal of supervision in specific facilities, but also in general, is the development of professionals and personal competencies of individual employees and teams. There is a methodological instruction for the provision of supervision for school facilities for the performance of institutional education or protective education and in school facilities for preventive educational care. Individual devices also have defined ways of personal support and professional development of workers. Supervision in school facilities is provided to pedagogical staff as part of work activities outside direct pedagogical activities. We divide the facilities into two groups according to where they fall, either under the Ministry of Education or under the region. Those facilities that fall under the region do not have to provide supervision to their employees. The aim of supervision is to improve the quality of multidisciplinary care for vulnerable minors, or persons under 19 years of age, placed in school facilities for institutional or protective education, minors, or adults until the end of secondary education, which is provided preventive educational care. The funds that facilities receive for their activities are normatively allocated, but their volume may not be sufficient to be used to financially ensure quality supervision in school facilities for institutional education or protective education and school facilities for preventive education. The research group consisted of employees of the mentioned facilities throughout the Czech Republic. The goal was achieved by using quantitative research, the method of a questionnaire using the Likert scale. The research showed that the most common form of supervision in these facilities is external supervision in the form of group and individual. Furthermore, it was found that the employees of these facilities are mostly satisfied with the supervision and its appearance in the facility. The data needed to process the hypotheses were analyzed in IBM SPSS Statistics at a specified level of significance = 95%. Thanks to the elaboration of hypotheses in the research, it subsequently turned out that we cannot prove in the case of this research, that school facilities for institutional or protective education and school facilities for preventive educational care, which fall under the MŠMT, have a more positively evaluated supervision from employees than facilities that do not fall under the MŠMT, so this hypothesis was rejected, and the null hypothesis was accepted. In the next hypothesis, it was not significantly proven that the evaluation of the benefits of supervision is influenced by the employee's job position. In the case of the last hypothesis, again, it has not been proven that length affects the evaluation of the benefit of supervision. The results of this diploma thesis can be an inspiration for school facilities as a topic for a possible change or as a positive feedback on the supervision implemented in them in the facility. They can also be used by supervisors and other staff involved in implementing supervision in education. Finally, it will serve as an information material for students and other professional public who are interested in this issue.

Nováková, Petra ; Turčová, Ivana (advisor) ; Nováková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Outdoor activities in institutional care Aim of the thesis: The aim of this work is to chart oudoor activites in institutional care in Liberec region. As well as to determine the types of outdoor activites and the time spent by doing these activities in nature. Methodology of research: I used the questionnaire method for this reasearch. Respondents were given questionnaires with open and closed questions concerning the topic. The data were processed quantitatively and were set out into pie charts. Results: In the questionnaire, I found out that educators believe that outdoor activities are suitable for children from institutional care. They are not only a good tool for making new contacts, but especially as a tool for increasing children's responsibility and self-knowledge. Most of the outdoor activities are used in the form of games or walks in nature. Activities that are least accessible are climbing and swimming. Top children's activity is playing on the computer and walks with friends. Playing games and collecting wild fruits are the most enjoyable outdoor activities for children. Outdoor activities bring mainly joy, fun and new experience to children. They think that they will get to know better their friends and strengthen the confidence among them during outdoor activities. The issues of juvenile criminal justice
Šípal, Jan ; Hořák, Jaromír (advisor) ; Pelc, Vladimír (referee)
1 The Issues of Juvenile Criminal Justice The Abstract This Master's degree thesis named "The Issues of Juvenile Criminal Justice" focuses on the issues of proceedings in the matters of children under the age of fifteen according to title third of the Act No. 218/2003 Coll. on the Responsibility of Juveniles for illegal Acts and on the Justice of Youth (hereinafter "ZSM"). These proceedings are unlike any other in that regard that although they are civil, they can't deny their penal aspect since they deal with the other offences, the acts which posses every element of a crime except for the fact that they were committed by someone not criminally liable. These proceedings are yet to be thoroughly examined by law literature or any other thesis and their statutory regulation itself is quite brief, that is despite the complexity of said issues. The first introductory chapter defines several basic concepts of these proceedings, such as "the child under the age of fifteen" or "other offence." Then, the ZSM is covered. This act is naturally crucial for the issue, though his relations to general civil and penal regulation must be explained. In the second chapter, called "Historical context," some key historical milestones are remembered, with the focus on Act No. 48/1931 Coll. on the Penal Justice System of the...

Protective education
Tejnecká, Martina ; Vanduchová, Marie (advisor) ; Jelínek, Jiří (referee)
Resumé The thesis deals with the topic of protective education. Protective education is a criminal law institute, which is not frequently imposed by the court. But this measure certainly carries out an irreplaceable function in the system of all measures. Nowadays, there is not such a publication which would be concerned just about the topic of protective education. The topic of protective education is usually published in connection with the issue of institutional care rather from a pedagogical point of view than a legal one. The aim of the master thesis is to provide comprehensive overview of legal analysis of protective education. The purpose is to evaluate legislation as well as to bring out the practices in the field of protective education. The thesis is devided into two parts. The first, theoretical part, is introduced by the chapter, which focuses on juvenile delinquency. The sanctioning of youth is very specific in comparison to sanctioning of adult offenders. It is highly important to emphasis on educational function of the measures. It is necessary to take this all into account when considering the possibilities of treatments with the deliquent youth. I devote this marginally in chapter 3. Chapter 4 is a focal point of the thesis. The chapter concerns the legal analyze of imposing the protective...
